First Assistant Superintendent

-Assistant Superintendent at this 18 hole private exclusive country club in the Philadelphia suburbs.
-Direct manager on the course of 20 grounds crew including making the daily work schedule and prioritizing duties for the crew.
-Pesticide application and disease verification
-Presenting new ideas to the superintendent to enhance the aesthetics of the golf course
-Various construction projects including extensive bunker reconstruction, rebuilding push-up greens and tees and irrigation installation and repair
First Assistant Superintendent
Plymouth Country Club
March 2001 – May 2006
-During my employment at this eighteen hole private country club, there was a major tee reconstruction project, drainage system repairs, extensive burn out damage to the turf that had to be treated and nursed back to health, a large tree removal project over the winter and creative planning to add additional landscaping to beautify the course.
-My chief duties were to supervise the staff in general landscaping including trimming, raking, fertilizing, operation of equipment and irrigation work. This also included course setup, aerification, running computerized irrigation systems, construction, spraying and assisting the superintendent in any decisions that may affect the look and feel of the course.
-Accomplishments included learning to speak Spanish to better communicate with the staff, assisting the superintendent in planning the annual budget allocation and developing a comprehensive daily plan for how to utilize the staff without taxing the budget with overtime wages.

-Performed all landscape duties including mulching, trimming bushes, cutting grass, snow removal and supervision of staff and accounts.
